Elizabeth "Betty" (Eicholtz) Opel, age 75, of Footedale, PA went to be with the Lord suddenly on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Jefferson Hospital.
She was born on May 2, 1944 in Crucible, PA
Daughter of the late John and Ida (Franks) Eicholtz
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: John and Tom
2 sisters: Ida and Mildred (Sweetsie)
Surviving family members to carry on her memory are her loving husband of 57 years: Ronald "Ron" Opel
Children: Cindy Metts and husband Ross, Sr.; Rhonda Fisher and husband Bob; Ronald "Burp" Opel, Jr. and girlfriend Gloria; Jane Chisler and husband Robert; and Tom Opel and fiance Jamie.
Grandchildren: Ross Metts, Jr.; Billy Metts and girlfriend Brittney; Jeanne Helmick and husband Tim; Rex Opel and wife Sherry; Amanda Constable and boyfriend Matt; Samantha Forsythe and husband Steve; Felicia Lehman and husband Scot; Jimmy Constable and fiance Whitney; Anthony Constable; Justin Tartar and wife Missy; Beth Echols and husband Josh; and Jerry Lindsey and girlfriend Autumn.
Her beloved great-grandchildren: Billy, Justin, Makhi, Alex, Gage, Nevaeh, Ethan, Chelsey, Mason, Brady, Maddie, Zac, Alli, Koda, Oakley, Dalton, Abbey, Mya, Brooke, Kasen, Wade, Jayden, Ella, and Sebastian
Her only surviving sibling, her twin brother: Rev. Joseph Eicholtz and wife Joann.
Several nieces and nephews and other loving family members.
Her beloved dog: Chloe
Betty was aloving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved and adored all of her children and grandchildren, they were all her pride and joy. She loved getting on her IPAD and Facebook and looking at the pictures of all of her grandchildren.
She loved keeping in contact with all of her family and friends via social media.
Betty was a homemaker for the last 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and loved to plant flowers in her garden. She was a longtime member of her brother Joe's Church, Faith Connections. Betty lived a life full of love and happiness and will be deeply missed by her family.
Friends will be received in The Dearth Funeral Home 35 South Mill Street New Salem, PA on Tuesday from 2-8PM and on Wednesday from 10:00AM until 11:00AM where a Funeral Service will be held with her brother, Rev. Joseph Eicholtz and son-in-law, Rev. Ross Metts, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
