Herbert "Jay" Barber

Herbert "Jay" Barber, age 89, of Uniontown, PA passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019.  He was born on April 14, 1929, in Ralph, PA, son of the late Earl and Catheraine Barber.

Jay was a Veteran of the Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was a retired accountant for US Steel.  A member of the First Christian Church - Republic, where he was active on the darts team and enjoyed cooking meals at the church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Barber.

Jay is survived by his sister Gertrude "Toots" Galie; nephew, Greg Barber as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Dearth Funeral Home, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, PA 15468 on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 4 pm - 8 pm, where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Charles House as officiant. Interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
