Edward Samuel Evansek
Eddie (Pete) Evansek was born on September 14, 1937, in New Salem PA to Peter Paul Evansek and Pauline Magdelaine Stanchin. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Hibbs, but spent the last 10 years living near his daughter and grandchildren in Washington PA. He died on Wednesday October 26, 2022, in the Donnell House, Washington PA.
Eddie was predeceased by his wife Janet Rae Baer, and best dog, Snickers. He is survived by daughter Andrea Costello (Michael); granddaughters: Stacey Crabtree, Ashley Moninger (Justin), Alexis Long (Christian), and his pride and joy, grandson, Samuel Miller (Danielle), all of Washington PA. Eddie also enjoyed special times with his six great-grandchildren, Sydney, Bryce, Lydia Jo, Josephine, Kyson, and Layni.
After having been honorably discharged from the US Army in 1963, he worked as a Service Manager at Fike Chevrolet in Masontown. In 1969, he began his lifelong career at Anthony Crane Rental where he wore many hats, traveled the world, and made many lifelong friends.
Eddie loved his old cars, times on the Farm, flying airplanes, and his Hibbs friends.
If you knew Eddie, you were either with him or you weren’t, he didn’t sit still for very long, he did something, even if it was wrong, and he loved to crack some nuts.
He will be missed.
Friends will be received at The Dearth Funeral Home, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, PA 15468 on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 2 - 6 PM, at which time a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Fr. Arnel Tadeo officiating. Interment will be private in The Cemetery of the Alleghenies. www.dearthfh.com
