Leonard Karpel Obituary

Leonard L. “Lenny” Karpel, of New Salem, PA passed on January 2, 2024. He was born
on September 13, 1940, in Buffington, PA, son of the late John and Anna (Ihnat) Karpel.
Leonard attended St. Precopius Parochial School in New Salem and was a member of the
former St. Procopius R.C. Church. Leonard was retired from Steel Scaffolding, Inc.

Besides his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Campbell; son-
in-law Bob Campbell; seven brothers, John, Jerome, Walter, Raymond, Bernard, Joe, and

Francis; and a sister, Loretta Ryan.
He is survived by wife, Heleen (Kirch) Karpel; three daughters, Peggy (Vince) Wolpink,
Wendy (Norm) Blanish, and Suzanne Campbell; grandson, Robert (Jess) Campbell; a sister
Rosalie Heffern; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
